Textfeld: Service for schools Textfeld: Today it is possible to reach into the hearts and homes of pleople in almost every country of the world. It is a unique and wonderful archievement to be able to learn how others live, to participate in their hobbies and interests and perhaps at a later date to exchange visits with them. Nowadays we must be aware that pupils and teachers have to contribute to a large extend to intercultural understanding and how to understand better than with the help of a friend in the other culture? IPF provides the opportunity: Service S – for school classes and youth groups aged 10-17 (at least 10 persons) Your pupils will receive a list of 4 addresses of pupils in countries they select with the appropriate language skills. During the following 12 months the address of each of your pupils will appear on the list of 10 new joining pupils who wish to have a pen pal in your country. This way your pupils will get a lot of pen friends. apply Pupils have this way the opportunity to practise their language skills but also achieve better understanding in other fields like geography, economy, religion, etc and when the friendships develop well to think about exchange holidays. Teachers and persons in charge who subscribe at least 10 persons for the S-Service are entitled to get their C-Service half prize. Applications must be sent together with the school class application. Service M1 – M2: IPf issues a full colour magazine named “People & Places”. It is a funny way to keep in touch with the world of pen friends. It contains info about all IPF activities, prize games, travel and human experience reports, photos and much more. Subscribers are entitled to submit articles and other contributions for publication. There is an award of 200 US dollars for the best item published each issue. If you enrol a school class you are invited to send us a class photo and your students experience with international pen friendships. Each school class issue published wins 100 US Dollar—INFO Our magazine is available only in English.— apply Service B – IPF’s booklet contains a lot of tips about successful pen paling.
